Boustead Consulting Limited offers three distinct services:
Consultancy service
We offer a full, one-stop consulting service, which
covers all aspects of data collection, processing and reporting. Typical consultancy
clients are trade associations who wish to produce an industry average
inventory data set. As consultants, we collect data from the individual member companies
(thus preserving data confidentiality) and produce an industry average that is passed on
to the trade association. The benefits to this approach are two-fold: the industry as a
whole has a reliable data set that it can either pass on to customers or publish in the
public domain; individual member companies can see how their operations compare to the

Database licensing service
For those organisations that wish to develop their own in-house
capability or who perhaps produce a diverse range of products that would render
consultancy work too expensive, we provide the option to take out a licence to use our
database and software. As a licensee you receive an off-the-shelf boxed package containing
the database and software on CD-ROM as well as an operating manual, an Introduction to LCA
book and a printed index of operations and conversion factors. Licensees are also entitled
to email support concerning any installation problems. As an extra feature to version 5.0
users, the latest version of our software can be downloaded from this site free of charge,
however it will only be of use to users who have installed version 5.0 from the
installation CD-ROM: in all other cases the download will be useless as it will require
(and not find) files installed from the CD-ROM.
Besides the more obvious benefits of doing things
in-house, once an industrial process has been fully characterised using the Boustead
Model, there is scope to model system changes and modifications that are designed to
improve the environmental performance of the system in some way, prior to their
implementation. In this way the desired effect can be ascertained as well as checking that
some other aspect of the environmental performance is not adversely affected as a result,
without necessarily committing capital for a pilot plant.
Training/seminar service
Over the last twenty years as the field of LCI/LCA has gained
international recognition, we have frequently been approached by organisations and
educational establishments to provide half-day or one-day seminars, either as stand-alone
talks or a part of more extended study program (e.g. Masters degree courses). The content
of these seminars can vary quite widely, ranging from a one-stop introduction to the
topic, to highly involved workshop sessions designed to cover some particular aspect of
LCI/LCA use. In all cases the seminar is geared specifically to your requirements.
